Beech Street Power Plant Waste Cleanup and Disposal

Precision Environmental provided labor, equipment, and materials for the remediation, packaging, transportation, and disposal of existing heavy metals including mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium as well as debris contaminated with heavy metals located throughout an Akron, OH facility prior to demolition of the structure.

The building originally provided steam heat for sections of downtown Akron had been abandoned for 20-30 years and was rapidly deteriorating due to weather and vandalism. The 4 story structure housed 6 boilers and a coal conveyor system for fueling the boilers.

Precision Environmental’s extensive management and labor expertise and experience in environmental remediation of power houses, foundries, and mills enabled Precision to cost-effectively complete the project on schedule.

NASA Glenn Research Center Mercury Decontamination

Precision was hired to decontaminate vacuum tanks used for microgravity research, and to dispose of elemental mercury and mercury-contaminated equipment. This included all ancillary equipment, piping, and ductwork.

The 2002 phase focused on all other horizontal surfaces and architectural spaces of contaminated facility. Precision's hazardous materials expertise and safety expertise resulted in a timely, safe project delivery for NASA.
