Precision Supports Ohio University's Bromley Hall Renovation

One of Ohio University's largest and most unique student residence halls, Bromley Hall, has started its renovation project this summer, and is expected to end in 2014. The Bromley Hall Renovation Project involves updating the student area plumbing and interior renovations, including: 128 dormitory rooms, 8,000 square feet of lounge area and 7,000 square feet of corridors.

The building was built in 1966 to original serve as a hotel in Athens, Ohio. OU purchased it in 2001 and transformed the building into a large residence hall to accommodate larger suites for student living, an OU student dining hall and other amenities.

Precision Environmental was awarded the project via a public bid job to perform the asbestos abatement and selective demolition services. The next day after OU commencement in June, Precision started working diligently to abate the asbestos materials in the walls and floors of the selected areas. The project required Precision's skilled abatement professionals to scrape the popcorn ceiling on each floor to ensure all hazardous materials were removed before demolition could begin.

Precision also performed selective demolition of four dorm rooms with drywall and popcorn tile texture to set the stage for renovations. Within less than a month, Precision completed their phase to allow the remaining renovation project to continue smoothly. Precision was proud to contribute to a major part of Ohio University's residence community, and complete its first successful job on the Athens campus.
